PARTIDO AIRPORT BREAKS GROUND
San Jose, Camarines Sur. On February 17, 2017, the official Staking Ceremony for the Development of the Partido Airport was conducted, with Secretary Arthur Tugade of the Department of Transportation and Secretary Alfonso Cusi of the Department of Energy as principal guests.
Congressman Noli Fuentebella, representative of the Fourth District of Camarines Sur highlighted that the project will boost the economic development, not only in Partido but in the entire province as well. He also added that complementary to the airport project, the development of the Nato Port in Sagñay will also be pursued.
Under the PDA’s Master Plan for the Development of Partido, the development of the Partido Airport and the Improvement of the port systems in Partido are identified as flagship programs of the agency.
ANNUAL SURGICAL MISSION IN PARTIDO
In partnership with Isarog Medical research Foundation (IMRF) and the Local Government Unit of Sagnay, the PDA conducted the 23rd Surgical mission on February 9-11, 2017 at Don Mariano Fuentebella Memorial Hospital in Sagnay, Camarines Sur. For this year, a total of 197 patients have been served by volunteer doctors and nurses from various hospitals in the country, such as Mary Johnston Hospital, Pasig General Hospital, Asian Hospital and Makati Medical Center.
The conduct of the annual surgical missions in Partido began in 1994, to provide free medical and health services to Partido constituents. Some residents from nearby districts have also been given medical assistance and its nearby districts in the province of Camarines Sur.
MOBILE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CLASSROOM PROJECT CONTINUES
February 6, 2017. The 2016 deployment of the Mobile Information Technology Classroom Project kicked off in Calalahan Elementary School and Salogon Elementary School, in San Jose, Camarines Sur. A component of the PDA’s Quality Education Program which aims to improve the quality of the education sector in Partido, the MITC project provides basic computer literacy lessons to the participating elementary schools in Partido. A total of 389 pupils and 36 teachers from the two schools were served.
The Renewal of the Memorandum of Agreement for the MITC Deployment was recently signed with DepEd and PSU, the project partners of the PDA for the MITC deployment in Partido. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), a former project partner, has already donated the MITC equipment to the PDA.
On October 14, 2016, the PDA accepted the donation through PDA Board Resolution no. 9, series of 2016. The PDA shall now primarily coordinate and implement the project in Partido, together with its partners. For the year 2017, the target elementary schools are located in the municipalities of San Jose and Lagonoy.
